Gatundu MP Moses Kuria and former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri are looking forward to William Ruto’s endorsement in 2022.

William Ruto has managed to gain immense porpularity from the Mt. Kenya region and Tanga Tanga leaders from there are hopeful that he will pick a running mate from one of them.

And now, Moses Kuria and Mwangi Kiunjuri have flexed their muscle on the running mate position.

“I have been a party leader and served in various Cabinet positions so I have what it takes not only to be Deputy President but even the President. But for now, I support the DP,” Mwangi Kiunjuri said at an event in Mt Kenya

Speaking to the Star Newspaper, Moses Kuria affirmed that he has what it takes to be Ruto’s running mate and will take up the position if conferred to him by the people.

“All that matters is the trust and support of the people. If you do not have it, that position becomes useless,” he said.

In May 1, DP Ruto held talks with leaders from the Mt. Kenya region, who presented their economic recovery framework to him.

In the talks, the leaders also demanded that DP Ruto picks his running mate from the region in order to get their vote in 2022.

Their demand attracted criticism from Kieleweke leaders from the Mt. Kenya region.

Murang’a women representative Sabina Chege told off the Kieleweke camp, saying they were making the right demands but in the wrong manner.

“It is good for people to visit and table their demands. But you know, we have always been saying if you are the beautiful bride, you should wait for somebody to woo you. I don’t think they should be demanding; they shouldn’t go with a list; just ask ‘what do you have for me on the table,” Sabina Chege remarked.
