Outspoken Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has disclosed that he last spoke to President Uhuru Kenyatta three years ago.
Speaking on Wednesday, September 22, Moses Kuria who is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s MP further said he considered having spoken to the president three years ago a privilege.
Kuria, who was elected on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party ticket, said that there are some senior people in the country who have never had a chance to talk to Uhuru.
“It is still a privilege that I spoke to the president there years ago, they are some people in this country who have never spoken to the president,” Kuria said in an interview with KTN News.
Pressed to shed light on why he has taken that long to have a chat with the Head of State, Kuria said he has no personal differences with president Uhuru.
While the lawmaker who is associated with Chama Cha Kazi reiterated that he rarely talks with Uhuru due to their ideological differences, it is suspected that his frosty relationship with the Jubilee party leader turned sour due to his association with Deputy President William Ruto.
The deputy president’s relationship with his boss has been shaky especially since March 2018 when the president shook hands with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Kuria who recently said he will not be defending his Gatundu South parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election has been launching scanting attacks against the president.
In June, Kuria told president Uhuru Kenyatta to keep off Mt Kenya politics telling him to finish his term and go.
“Since the General Election is just around the corner, some people are busy calling for us to unite with them, but I want to tell them that this cannot happen because it is too late,” Kuria said.
