Moses Kuria sets eyes on Kiambu gubernatorial seat

by Amos Khaemba

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has announced his intention to vie for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat ahead of the August General Election.

The Chama Chama Kazi party leader on Saturday, February 26, took to Twitter to make that announcement.

Earlier on the vocal legislature had taken to his social media page to ask his followers which seat he should contest in the August polls.

“I have been receiving so many queries about my political future. What do you want me to be after 9th August 2022?” Kuria posed on Twitter.

The lawmaker had asked his supporters to choose either the MP should contest for the Gatundu MP seat, Kiambu governors’ seat, the deputy presidents’ seat or to remain as the party leader of CCK.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God. So, help me, God. Under your wings I feel safe,” Kuria said after the polls.

The Gatundu legislature had kept his supporters anxious on his next political move after announcing last year that he will not be seeking re-election as the Gatundu MP.

After his return from Dubai where he was receiving treatment, the outspoken legislature had said that a leading presidential candidate had approached him to be his running mate.

“Whatever has happened between the president and his deputy since 2017 has made many people shy away and fear the position of the deputy president. As of now, we would have to consult religious people to assure us that the position is not bewitched,” said Kuria.

So the Gatundu legislature has not declared his preferred presidential candidate, though his CCK party is expected to make the decision on March 15.
