Murang’a Women Representative Sabina Chege emerged as the third most influential female politician in the region with 15.6 percent whereas Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika was named the fourth 7.9 percent.

Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome was named the fifth-best after getting 5.5 percent while Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba was named the sixth with 4.9 percent.

Kirinyaga Woma Rep Purity Ngirici who was earlier believed to be influential in Kirinyaga politics was named position seven after scoring a mere 2.3 percent.

Addressing journalists in Nairobi on Thursday, September 23, Mizani Africa Operation Manager John Benson, said that the poll was conducted in four counties and that they will continue rating them across the country.

He said that the poll was dubbed, ‘If the election were to be held today, who would you vote for?’

“We conducted the poll to identify the list of politicians who are popular in their Counties and how their electorates rank them. We will continue rating them across the country,” he said.

It should be remembered that both Karua and Waiguru, the first two most influential female politicians in Mt Kenya hails from Kirinyaga County and have been considered the front runners in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race.

Karua nicknamed the iron lady will be seeking to unseat her competitor in the 2017 General Election and Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru.

In their renewed efforts to woo voters, Waiguru confirmed that she will ditch Jubilee for UDA at a time when Martha Karua was endorsed as the spokesperson of the Mount Kenya Unity Forum.
