MP Ayub Savula vanishes with Azimio la Umoja campaign cash

by Amos Khaemba

Boda Boda riders in Kakamega County on Friday, February 4 sensationally accused Lugari MP Ayub Savula of vanishing with Azimio la Umoja mobilization money.

In a video seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, the youths alleged that the Lugari legislature promised to facilitate them to attend the Azimio la Umoja rally held in Bungoma County.

“We were told to meet up with DAP-K delegates at Malava so that we go to Bungoma, we waited for many hours, from 7 am to 11 am that’s when we were told to proceed to Kakamega where we will be refunded our expenses,” the youths said.

“Now we are in Kakamega, and Savula the Kakamega gubernatorial aspirant has vanished after seeing us without even recognizing us,” they alleged.

The youths warned the DAP-K party that they will not allow politicians to take them for granted during this electioneering year.

They threatened to join the hustler movement led by Deputy President William Ruto if the DAP-K party will continue with such characters.

The riders who are riding other people’s motorbikes explained that they did not work for the better part of the day having been promised to be compensated for their fuel expenses.

Ironically Savula, who recently decamped from the ANC party joined other Azimio la Umoja leaders in the Bungoma rally to accuse ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader of being selfish and self-centered.

Speaking at the rally, Savula claimed that Mudavadi and Wetang’ula were paid Ksh 300 million by Deputy President William Ruto to support his presidential bid.

The meeting in Bungoma was used by DAP-K to officially announce that Governor Wycliffe Wangamati will be the party gubernatorial aspirant in the county.

The Bungoma rally was attended by Azimio la Umoja-leaning leaders from the Western region led by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa among others.

The ODM leader Raila Odinga was expected to attend but failed to show up as he is currently outside the country.
