Embakasi East MP Babu Owino received praise from the uncle of DJ Evolve; a man he allegedly shot and injured at a club in January 2020.
During the burial of Evolve’s mum on October 20, his uncle Dominic Orinda thanked the MP for standing with them after they lost their kin, Mary Hongo.
Dominic dismissed reports that Evolve’s mother died due to the stress from her son’s condition after a shooting incident involving Babu Owino.
“Babu Owino is a man and a half, to be honest with you. He has done everything that a good man can do to support his friend.,
“He stood with us since DJ Evolve’s mother died. He loved the deceased like his own mother and often referred to her as ‘mum’,
“He has fulfilled all the pledges that he made to our family,” Dominic said in reference to the Embakasi East MP.
Babu Owino attended the burial ceremony in the company of his mother and wife Fridah Muthoni.
Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve’s mother succumbed to heart complications on September 23.
After her death, Babu Owino mourned Mary Hongo as a mother figure to him, whom he was united with through a difficult situation.
“Mum you were a mother to me, and a friend. We were united through a difficult situation, we had grown so close but God has His own reasons why this had to happen.
“As a family, we are deeply saddened by your loss. You are forever loved and treasured,” wrote Babu in a social media post.
He also conveyed his condolence to Felix Orinda, whom he termed his long-term friend.
“To my friend Felix and your family, I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. May God grant you peace, strength, and comfort to go through this difficult moment in your lives,” he wrote.
Babu Owino is accused of shooting Felix Orinda in January 2020, leaving him paralysed.
