Opposition leader Raila Odinga's quest to expel rebel ODM Members of Assembly (MPs) from the Orange party has for the second attempt hit a snag.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga gave his fifth stab at the 2022 presidential election.

It was widely reported that the 2022 presidential race will be Raila’s last attempt.

However, it appears that the former Prime Minister is not exiting the political arena anytime soon.

For instance, former Chereng’ani MP Kipruto Arap Kirwa said there is still hope for a Raila Odinga presidency signaling that the ODM leader will still vie for the presidency in 2027.

In a clear signal that Raila will challenge President William Ruto in 2027, the opposition leader in January this year announced plans to revamp the party head of the next General Election.

Speaking to TV 47 on Thursday, March 23, 2023, Lang’ata MP Felix Oduwour allis Jalang’o said it will not be easy for Raila to unseat President William Ruto in 2027 owing to the fact that he has never lost an election.

The comedian-turned-politician said for Raila to defeat William Ruto, he does not only need to change his tactics but also start preparing early enough.

“Defeating President (William) Ruto in 2027 will not be easy. I urge mzee Raila Odinga to change tactics; whether he will vie for the presidency or nominate someone else

“It’s good to start preparing as early as now. As you know, Ruto has never lost an election,” he said.

Already, the opposition wing led by Raila Odinga and a section of political analysts claims that President William Ruto has already started his 2027 campaign.

Ruto has been meeting opposition leaders including those who lost in the 2022 elections as he plans on his re-election bid in 2027.

Further, the opposition is claiming that by constituting a team tasked with finding the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials without involving all stakeholders, Ruto was working to rig the elections.
