Speaking on Friday, January 7, at the Bomas of Kenya during Raila Odinga’s 77 birthday party, the Jubilee MP exuded confidence that the former Prime Minister will beat Deputy President William Ruto in the upcoming elections.

“Hii birth day ya leo ndio itakuwa ya mwisho sisi kufanyia hapa…The next one ya tarehe saba, January 2023, tutaikulia wapi?” Kega posed as the audience replied “State House.”

Speaking at the same venue, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino further expressed optimism that Raila who is enjoying the backing of President Uhuru Kenyatta will win the much anticipated presidential race.

While delivering his goodwill message to Raila, the controversial lawmaker further prayed that God makes Deputy President Raila Odinga the official opposition leader after the August 9, elections.

“May the almighty grant you good health so that you lead Kenya? May he grant you the wisdom that you rule this 2022. And may the same almighty never forget about Ruto, May he make him the resident of Kenya…,

“May the almighty make Ruto the chief opposition leader in 2022. You are the greatest there was, there is and there will be…You are the vintage, the hope to the hopeless. Baba has taken an oath registered in heavens until Kenyans problems are solved and he will have joy,” stated Babu Owino.

Odinga, who is making the fifth stab at the presidency, has dominated Kenya’s political scene for decades always becoming a key factor in every presidential election.

After losing the past presidential elections to incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017, Odinga is running this year on an Azimio La Umoja ticket in what is promising to be a do-or-die battle pitting him and main opponent Deputy President William Ruto.
