MP Kimani Ngujiri on dangers of Raila Odinga presidency

by Nderi Caren

Bahati MP Kimani Ngujiri has warned about the dangers of a Raila Odinga Presidency in 2022.

According to the legislator, the Azimio la Umoja meeting held at the Kasarani Stadium on December 10, was chaotic and this demonstrates how Raila Odinga’s presidency will be.

“After the Kasarani meeting, going to town was chaotic, cars’ side mirrors were broken…everything on the road was looted… insults. Is that the government we are talking about?” MP Kimani Ngujiri posed.

The Bahati MP referred to the 2007-2008 post-election violence, saying Raila Odinga has not helped in settling the affected parties ever since.

“Right now people are crying from the 2007-2008 violence, now they are not paying rent. Is that the government you want to lead Kenya? Is that the direction?” he added

His accusations of violence come days after Raila Odinga’s presidential declaration day, where he declared shall be going for the presidency in the 2022 General Election against William Ruto and others.

At the meeting, chaotic scenes were witnessed, with Maragua MP Mary Wamaua, who is thought to be William Ruto’s ally, falling victim to the chaos and disorganization.

At the VIP entrance of Kasarani Stadium, security officers roughed up the legislator, forcing her to leave the meeting.

She accused Raila Odinga’s men(the security) of being disrespectful to her, questioning how they would treat people if the ODM leader gets to State House.

“What if you get to State House? We want humble people, I am an elected MP and you are pushing me like a sack of potatoes. You will find me in Murang’a),” Mary Wamaua said before storming out of Raila’s event.

Later, the ODM Chairman John Mbadi released a statement, apologising to Mary Wamaua for the mishandling she was subjected to.

“On behalf of the ODM Party, I take this opportunity to publicly apologise to Hon Wamaua for the indecent handling and pray that she, together with the good people of Maragua will accept our apology,” Mbadi said.
