MP Millie Odhiambo silences critics who humiliate her for not having children

by Enock Ndayala

Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has silenced her critics who have had a habit of questioning her and/or insulting her for not having a child or children of her own.

Taking to her Facebook on Thursday, September 9, the ODM legislator said that it was the will of God for her not to have a biological child.

According to her, she has accepted her complications and has since moved on saying she will not consider herself any less because she has never breastfed.

“Those of you who always like attacking me for not having kids kindly have accepted the will of God and moved on. I’m a mother of the motherless and I am proud of that,” she said.

Odhiambo said she has raised very many children than she could imagine, something that has made her resign to being a mother of the motherless.

The vocal legislator had earlier posted on Facebook encouraging her fans that no matter how useless someone may be, their wedding will never proceed in their absence.

“No matter how stupid or useless you are, your wedding won’t proceed without your presence,’’ she posted.

Two years ago, the lawmaker who is yet to be blessed with a child sensationally said that she would take care of her husband’s children born out of wedlock.

In a report by the Standard, the MP said she wants her husband to unite his family to avoid drama later saying that the move would ensure the children are not discriminated against because they are unknown to the family.

“If my husband Magugu Mabona gave birth to some children out of wedlock, let him incorporate them in my family,

“I have told Mabona to bring back all children he sired out of marriage. I am ready to take care of them because I don’t want any child to suffer because their father and mother are not married,” she said.
