MP Oscar Sudi sends warning to Jubilee-allied politicians in Rift Valley

by Nderi Caren

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has fired at Jubilee-allied politicians from Rift Valley accusing them of dividing the community.

In a post on his Facebook page, Oscar Sudi mentioned 8 Jubilee-allied legislators, accusing them of spreading cheap propaganda to divide the community.

He pointed out Kesses Member of Parliament Swarrup Mishra, accusing him of playing dirty politics against his opponents. Sudi did not delve into the details of the kind of dirty politics Mishra is playing.

“I (warn) those who chest thump with too much pride thinking they have enough money to buy anyone that stands in their way. I am talking of leaders with selfish and personal interests like Hon. Swarrup Mishra,” Oscar Sudi wrote.

The Kapseret MP further stated that the Jubilee-allied leaders are free to form their own path, or join existing political parties.

“We currently live in a democratic society where every leader enjoys the freedom of association. These remnants are free to join ODM, KANU, ANC, WIPER, FORD KENYA or stick with their party leader Uhuru Kenyatta,” he added.

Other than the Kesses MP, Oscar Sudi also mentioned Senator Margaret Kamar, MP William Chepkut, Joshua Kutuny, Alfred Keter, Silas Tiren, and Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich in the list of Jubilee-allied MPs causing division in the Rift Valley region.

The leaders mentioned by Sudi are among the few members of Jubilee who have stuck in President Uhuru’s camp as others shifted to Ruto’s.

Rift Valley is considered William Ruto’s political bastion, a support base he inherited from late president Moi who ruled the country for 24 years.

While Sudi and his like from Rift Valley who support the deputy president William Ruto’s political idealogy are technically in the Jubilee party, they shifted their allegiance to United Democratic Alliance.

It is the party William Ruto has not shied away from saying he will use to vie for the presidency in 2022, because the current leadership in Jubilee has frustrated him.

Sudi’s point comes after DP William Ruto stated that it is only a matter of time till Jubilee-allied politicians start flocking to UDA as their party(Jubilee) has been held captive.

Jubilee deputy secretary general however dismissed Ruto’s suggestions, terming him an enemy of the party.

“We are well prepared for the manner in which Ruto attacks the president. He is an enemy of Jubilee after realizing that President Uhuru might have his own candidate for 2022,” Joshua Kuttuny told a local daily.
