ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has sensationally claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga cannot win the August 9, presidential election without the support of former National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals.
Speaking at Kimorori ground in Maragua constituency, on Thursday, February 17, the former vice-president said it will be too hard for the former prime minister to succeed retiring president Uhuru Kenyatta without Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), and Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya).
He said the opposition leader had already lost the support of the western and eastern regions, which are influential in deciding who will win the presidential election.
“Sasa sisi Kalonzo, Weta na mimi hatuko huko, watashinda namna gani (Now Kalonzo, Wetangula and I are not on his side, how will he (Raila Odinga) win?)” Mudavadi posed.
The 2013 presidential loser further revealed that there were efforts by the Kenya Kwanza camp to reach out to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join their wing.
While urging Kalonzo not to join Raila’s Azimio la Umoja, Mudavadi said he together with the Wiper leader and the Bungoma Senator had supported Raila Odinga for “far too long” with no tangible results.
He said the recently formed Kenya Kwanza coalition was targeting a landslide win in the August 9, General Election by garnering at least 70 percent in the first round.
“We are assured of winning the poll by 10.00 am in the morning but with Kalonzo on board, we shall have finished the business by 9:00 am,” he said.
He maintained that Raila was a Government Project to be manipulated by his political masters was he to find himself at State House.
