“Today he says he is yet to make a declaration. If what he has been saying is not a declaration then he is confused… Maybe it is his age,” Kang’ata said in an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday, October 6 in reference to Raila Odinga’s radio interview where he said he is yet to decide whether or not he will vie for the presidency in 2022.

Raila who was speaking on five Kalenjin vernacular radio stations in Nairobi on Thursday, October 6 said he is still consulting with Kenyans before he can declare his presidential ambitions in the 2022 General Election.

“I am not entering a coalition to stop (William) Ruto, no. There are many others who have declared to vie for the presidency in 2022. I am still consulting with Kenyans before I make my decision,” he said.

The ODM leader further said he is currently popularising his “Azimio La Umoja” agenda, which has given him a chance to build partnerships with communities and leaders with mutual political and economic interests.

Raila who is expected to make a fifth stab at the presidency is yet to publicly declare his presidential ambitions and has severally been describing 2022 as “an event” that will come and go.

The former Prime Minister has been traversing the country meeting leaders from regions and selling his 2022 manifesto in a clear indication that he will be on the ballot in the 2022 presidential race.
