Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege has declared her support for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidency in 2022.

Speaking to NTV on Sunday, December 12, Sabina Chege said she is even ready to lose her seat if that is what it will take for Raila Odinga to be President.

The Murang’a Woman Rep is among the legislators who are at the forefront of popularizing Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in Mt Kenya.

“It will be a risk from my side, but I have a responsibility to convince my people, and I will also be listening to them. I am positive that now we can have a conversation on whether Raila can be a candidate or not,” Sabina Chege said.

The Murang’a legislator further detailed that they are working on doing away with the notion that Raila Odinga is a dangerous person for the Mt Kenya people.

“I am no longer afraid of being associated with Raila, he is a leader like any other. I have a responsibility to help the people fight the phobia, initially were told like Raila was not even human, we were very afraid of him.

Now we have access of him and he has come out as a very polite person, a very good family man who is considerate to other people,” she said.

The legislator added that Raila should be considered due to his resilience since he is contesting the presidential post for the 5th time.

Murang’a Woman Rep further called on the Jubilee Party to hold its National Delegates Convention that had been scheduled for November 30, but postponed due to President Uhuru’s State of the Nation address.

“The way forward for Jubilee is to rebrand… go to the grassroots and talk to his people,” Sabina Chege stated.
