“The reason why the conversation in Azimio is not sitting pretty is that everybody had been lied to, everybody had been promised at a certain given time that he was going to be something,” senator Murkomen said.

He said unlike in Kenya Kwanza where Deputy President William Ruto was urging his current partners to join him and form government, the President on the other side was promising leaders top jobs in the Azimio.

According to Murkomen, some of the people the head of state had guaranteed to be Raila’s presidential running mate include KANU chairman Gideon Moi, Musalia Mudavadi of ANC, and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Others were Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, a move he said saw her abandon William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza for Azimio.

He said Uhuru had even promised Gideon Moi and Musalia Mudavadi that they will be the presidential flag bearers.

“There was a time he (president Uhuru) told Mudavadi that he was definitely going to be the deputy president and even went to the funeral of his mother,” Murkome said.
