Nominated Member of Parliament Cecily Mbarire has warned ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi against fully depending on the support of rich Mt Kenya businessmen.

The nominated MP challenged Mudavadi to reach out to the electorates himself and not rely on the endorsement of the rich Mt Kenya businessmen, who she said are not representative of the electorate..

Mbarire told Mudavadi that the tycoons are just wasting his time, with no beneficial impact on his 2022 Presidential ambition.

“My unsolicited advice to you my friend; go directly to wananchi (ordinary Kenyans) in Mt.Kenya. There are no votes in Safari Park or gatekeepers in Mt.Kenya.They have their preferred candidate. They are keeping you busy. Run good leader, run! Thank me later,” Mbarire told Mudavadi through a social media post.

Celily Mbarire gave the warning to Mudavadi after he shared details of his meeting with the members of Mt Kenya Foundation(MKF).

In the round table meeting held on October 7, Musalia Mudavadi and his OKA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and Moses Wetangula assured the tycoons that they will look into their business interests if selected as Uhuru’s successors.

“When you go home, ask yourselves, who can you trust? When you sleep, who can you trust?

“If you are a businessman and you are a landlord, how do you feel when your houses have been occupied and you have never got restitution for those houses? These are the questions, who can you trust?” Mudavadi said.

The members of One Kenya Alliance were accompanied by former Presidential aspirant Cyrus Jirongo, who pleaded with the MKF to give all candidates a fair hearing.

“First of all, let us not have a preferred leader. All these people are capable. Let all of us work as a team, and at the right time Kenyans will see who is the most qualified to take us through this very risky period,” said Cyrus Jirongo.
