Musalia Mudavadi’s headache as vocal party members fight each other

by Nderi Caren

ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi is having a hard time calming a storm between key party members; Lugari MP Ayub Savula and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.

The two members, who are eyeing the Kakamega governorship in 2022 are involved in a bitter exchange of words and throwing accusations of links to Deputy President William Ruto.

On Tuesday, Malala shared a letter signed by ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi on his social media platforms, a letter that has exposed the simmering war in the party.

The letter apparently called out Ayub Savula and some unnamed party members for illegally acting as the party’s spokespersons to ‘spread lies’ through the media.

It further stated that Ayub Savula has no authority to speak on behalf of Musalia Mudavadi, neither is he the official deputy Party leader of ANC.

“Utterances by persons purporting to hold office and therefore speak for and on behalf of the party should be largely disregarded by the media,

” By this notice, we abrogate all utterances stated by Ayub Angatia Savula in a purported capacity of deputy party leader,” the letter read in part.

Turns out this letter was fake and only serving to lift the lead on the infighting between Malala and Ayub Savula within Musalia’s party.

As if Malala’s ‘fake’ letter was not enough, he spoke to People Daily insisting that Savula had been using the party’s social media platforms to sell his agenda.

“The ANC official Facebook page is run by (John) Atambo, who is a former workmate of Savula, and he is misusing the party machinery. We all know Savula is not the deputy party leader. Why hasn’t Mudavadi, the party chairman or the secretary general refuted that?” he said.

Amani Nationa Congress Party’ Secretary General Simon Gikuru has since dismissed the letter, which Kivumbi.co.ke earlier reported about here before knowing it is fake.

“We wish to frankly dissociate from such deceitful and frivolous actions of manipulation whose intentions remain undefined,” his statement by the party read.

There has been an ongoing war between the two leaders, with Ayub Savula accusing Malala of working with William Ruto.

The Lugari MP also sensationally claimed that Musalia Mudavadi has been meeting William Ruto and even received money from him.
