Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has strongly declared that ODM leader Raila Odinga will be the next president of Kenya.

In his weekly Youtube shows, The Fifth Estate, Mutahi argues that Raila has carried a curse imposed on him for the last 30 years.

The political analyst said that while before the ODM chief could never win any presidential election, the that caurse has lifted.

“The Curse of Sisyphus imposed on Raila Odinga for the last 30 years is hereby lifted. In this curse, we declared that Raila was born to run for president and fail, but we were wrong,” said Mutahi Ngunyi.

He went ahead to explain how Raila has suffered from the said curse by losing his opportunity to be the president just when he is at the top.

In the analysis, Mutahi said that Raila had won the 2007 General Election, but it was taken away from him.

“He has suffered from this myth in his quest for the presidency. Each time he gets to the top and the fortunes are about to be in his favour, the heavy stone spins backwards. In 2007, the presidency was his but when he got to the top, the stone rolled backwards against him, “ he said.

On the 2022 elections, the political analyst stated that none of the contestants will achieve the 50% plus one threshold required for one to be the president, leading the country to a run off election.

“A Run off is inevitable in 2022, no one will get 50% plus one like Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017,” he charges.

Apart from Raila’s presidency, Mutahi also said that the latest actions by Deputy President William Ruto show he has resigned as the deputy party leader of Jubilee, and by extension, as the deputy president of Kenya.

In his analysis, Mutahi explained that Ruto’s alleged allegiance to the UDA party shows that he is not interested in his position at Jubilee Party and also the second in command.

“In section 14 of the political parties act of 2012, a person shall be deemed to have resigned from a party if; they form another political party, joins in the formation of another political party, joins another political party, in any way or any manner advocate for the formation of another political party or promotes the ideology, interests or policies of another political party,” the political analyst says.

He believes through association with the UDA Party, William Ruto has committed these offenses, hence not eligible to be the deputy president of Kenya.

The legislators who have associated themselves with the UDA party are deemed to have resigned according to the political parties act.

A number of Jubilee’s nominated senators who are in associated with UDA have already been expelled from the party, and may soon lose their seats.
