Earlier this week, a compromising video resembling Interior Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Millicent Omanga was making rounds on social media platforms.
In the video secretly taken in a hotel room, a woman with a striking resemblance to the voluptuous woman CAS was captured asleep with her buttocks exposed.
The lady was snoring as an unidentified person, who probably wanted to blackmail her, recorded the video.
As such, women leaders from rival camps including the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party have ganged up to condemn the incident.
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris wants the man who leaked the bedroom video believed to be that of Omanga to take action.
Passaris in a statement said that the publication of intimate images of any woman or man without their consent should be condemned in the strongest terms as a violation of their privacy and dignity.
Passaris who contested against Omanga in the 2022 General Electio said that sharing such photos was not only a gross invasion of their private lives but also an attempt to intimidate, shame, embarrass and silence them.
“The shame is not for my sister, the shame is for us as a society that thrives on the destruction of character, regardless of the pain or damage it causes not only to the victim but also to family, friends, and the public,” Passaris said.
However, Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu also condemned the act but said there was nothing wrong with the controversial video as everyone gets naked at some point.
“Yes, I saw the video. There’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. We have all slept butt naked, what’s the big deal…there are women you can’t bring down,” said Senator Nyamu.
