Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika blasts Raila over his love for retelling history in rallies

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has taken a swipe at ODM leader Raila Odinga for what she termed as retelling history every time he gets a chance to address Kenyans.

Speaking on Monday, December 13, at William Ruto’s official Karen Residence in Nairobi County, Kihika said voters are not prisoners of history and asked the opposition leader to instead tell Kenyans what exactly he will do for them if he clinches the Presidential seat in the 2022 General Election.

“There are some of our competitors who are stuck in history. If you have decided to vie for the presidency, spare us all those history lectures, we have read them in class,” Kihika said in an apparent reference to Raila Odinga.

Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has taken a swipe at ODM leader Raila Odinga over his habit of telling the political history.

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa further reiterated Kihika’s sentiments accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner of running out of ideas in his political rallies.

“Let me tell you, he (Raila Odinga) has nothing new to tell you and that is why he is holding to history,” Jumwa said.

While acknowledging the importance of history in relation to the 2022 elections, Jumwa however asked Raila Odinga to also give the history of the other side of the coin.

She challenged the presidential hopeful to tell Kenyans what transpired in 1982 during the failed coup against then-President Daniel Moi and how it ended.

“History is made. They should not give us a history that was it not Jaramogi Oginga, Jomo Kenyatta would not be president… Perhaps they should also tell us about the 1982 coup attempt,” she added.

It has always been claimed Raila Odinga was actively involved in the 1982 attempt to overthrow the government of late President Daniel Moi.

Last month, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga urged Raila to stop focusing on how beneficial he has been historically and talk about the future.

“It is not time to talk about history; it is time to talk about the present and where we are going. These Kikuyus from Mt Kenya want to hear what is there in your government for them,

“I also want to know. If you are given the government what do you have to offer us for our 5,000,000 votes?” Mutahi Kahiga asked Raila directly at a public rally days before he shifted allegiance to William Ruto.
