The mother of the 17-year-old Narok boy who gifted 2022 presidential front runner Raila Odinga a portrait of the Kenyan State House has broken her silence for the first time.

She said her son Wellington Otieno, a Form Three student at Masikonde Day Secondary School did not receive the much-needed recognition even after presenting the dummy State House, which even had a national flag, to Raila during a rally in Narok.

“I was saddened when I saw it being reported that a group of youth from Narok gifted Raila the ‘State House’ yet it was my son who made it single-handedly,” she said.

She exuded confidence that her son will have a chance to present the gift to his favorite presidential candidate Raila Odinga who she says will succeed outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta.

On his part, Otieno revealed that he came up with the idea of modeling the State House for his preferred presidential candidate Raila Odinga in 2019 while still in form one.

He said he was always banking on his talent to one day fend for his family.

“I have made several artworks such as buses and I have even made a model of my dream house but the ‘State House’ was my biggest project,” Otieno said.

The teenager revealed that the ‘State House’, project cost him KSh 6, 000 of which was a donation from his church pastor.
