The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala for threatening to block the much-hyped Bukhungu II meeting.

“Kakamega is my bedroom. I want to tell them that unless they get a permit from Musalia, let them not step to Kakamega on December 31…I want to officially say that there will be no meeting at Bukhungu stadium on the 31,” Malala said.

NCIC stated that Malala who is eying the Kakamega gubernatorial election in the 2022 General Election was out of order by declaring that Odinga should not step in Kakamega.

“We have today summoned Senator Cleophas Malala to answer for his regrettable and unwarranted statements that allegedly meant to lock out a political candidate from holding a meeting at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega slated for December 31, 2021,

“Kenya has no bedrooms and living rooms for any politician and there is no space for locking out other politicians from any political side from any part of the country,” NCIC chairman Samuel Kobia said in a statement on Monday, December 27.

While warning politicians from making utterances that may lead to violence, NCIC added that Malala was a “Prime candidate for inclusion in the wall of shame; as well as facing the full force of the law.”

Kobia further stated that the commission is committed to being more vigilant in monitoring the nation to ensure that politics do not lead the country into a dangerous zone.
