Governor Mutahi Kahiga joined Deputy President William Ruto’s campaigns in Nyeri County on Monday, December 6.

This comes just a day after the County boss announced that he supports William Ruto’s presidency and also his plans to ditch Jubilee Party.

Accompanied by MPs such as Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) Kimani Ichungwah (Kikuyu) Rahab Mukami (Nyeri), Alice Wahome (Kandara), John Kinyua (Laikipia), Rindikiri Mugambi (Buuri) and Ferdinand Waititu (Former Kiambu Governor) William Ruto made crossroads in the county with his new ally.

The Nyeri Governor joined William Ruto’s campaigns, drumming up support for his Bottom-up economic agenda.

“Joined William Ruto at Nairutia shopping center in Kieni West where he concluded his tour of Nyeri. I wish to express my gratitude to the Deputy President for his engagement with the people of Nyeri and his assurance to continue supporting the local Wananchi,” Mutahi Kahiga wrote in a tweet.

The Nyeri Governor left tongues wagging on Sunday after endorsing William Ruto only a few days after accompanying Raila Odinga in his tour of the region.

At a church service on Sunday, December 5, the Nyeri Governor said the Jubilee party had become lonely after the exit of other governors.

“I am the only Mt. Kenya governor remaining in Jubile and it is so lonely, but one thing I want to assure you I won’t join ODM, let us vote for William Ruto,” he said.

The County boss opened up on governors being threatened whenever they are seen with William Ruto.

He further detailed that Raila Odinga is not beneficial for the future of Kenya since all he bases on is history.

“In 2018 we were allowed to take tea with the deputy president…it reached a point that if you were seen with him you get a phone call,

If you want to know the history of Kenya follow Raila, if you want to know the future, follow this man (Ruto),” he stated.
