ODM chairman likens William Ruto to man selling hyena

ODM Chairman John Mbadi has said Deputy President William Ruto attracts huge crowds of curious Kenyans who cannot be converted to voters.

Using the analogy of a hyena being sold on a market, the Suba South MP said that DP William Ruto only attracts attention but the same cannot be translated into votes.

The ODM chairman told the party’s supporters not to be worried by the big crowds that DP Ruto commands in rallies because they mean nothing on the ballot.

“When someone goes to the market with a hyena they are bound to attract many people as compared to a seller who goes to the same market with a fat cow, this does not mean they seek to purchase the hyena, they are only surprised at how the animal can be sold in broad daylight,” said Mbadi.

The ODM chairman John Mbadi explained that Ruto’s approach of going into the 2022 race alone is a wrong one as elections are won through partnerships and coalitions.

Even though Raila Odinga has not officially declared his presidential bid, the lawmaker assured supporters that the ODM boss will be contesting for the position.

The issue of forming coalitions has been a matter of debate between Deputy President William Ruto and his opponents in the ODM Party.

ODM has been keen on forming coalitions with the Jubilee Party, Wiper Party, KANU Party, ANC Party and also the Ford Kenya party.

On the other hand, Ruto has remained unbowed, vowing to go into the ballot as a one-man under the UDA ticket.

For the DP, the coalitions formed by his opponents are aimed at promoting tribal alignments.

“Some are forming this alliance, while others are joining the other alliance. I want to tell them that I am preparing myself for them. I know you are with me and those in alliances should prepare for shock,” Ruto said.
