ODM deputy party leader claims William Ruto in talks with NASA principals

by Nderi Caren

The ongoing coalition talks between Jubilee Party and ODM has left politicians pointing fingers at one another, with accusations of betrayal filling the air.

ODM Deputy Party leader Ali Hassan Joho has pointed a finger at some NASA principals, who are in talks with Deputy President William Ruto.

According to Joho, the NASA principals are accusing ODM of failure to honour their coalition deal yet they are the ones who started engaging with other political parties.

“When these NASA people were forming One Kenya Alliance and when Wiper was doing a coalition pact with Jubilee, we kept quiet and never hurled stones at them,

“Currently, we are even aware that some of them are negotiating with UDA (William Ruto’s party), but as ODM we are not complaining. Why must they continue dragging Kenyans seeking a united country behind?” Hassan Joho posed.

Hassan Joho statement is in response to the accusations that ODM is facing from fellow NASA co-principals; Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka.

On learning of coalition talks between ODM and Jubilee, both Kalonzo and Musalia have accused ODM of failing to honor the agreement in the NASA coalition.

“I am challenging my fellow leaders to live in accordance with what we proclaim publicly or even privately, and more so in writing. If you sign a coalition agreement like NASA or Jubilee with other parties, then you live by that,” Said Kalonzo Musyoka.

However, Musalia Mudavadi has come out to defend the One Kenya Alliance, saying that they do not have a formal coalition agreement yet.

He also denied claims that his party is in talks with William Ruto’s UDA.

Even as the NASA co-principals decry foul play from Raila Odinga, it is forward ever for ODM.

The party is already in talks with Jubilee, and is planning to front a candidate for the 2022 presidential race.
