ODM leader Raila Odinga and his wife Ida Odinga on Tuesday, August 24, coincidentally welcomed their fifth grandson on the same day his wife and the newborn’s grandmother Ida Odinga was celebrating her birthday party.
Raila Odinga Junior made the special announcement on Twitter noting that he and his wife Yvonne Wambui were blessed with a bouncing baby boy being their second born.
While congratulating his wife, Raila Odinga junior said that was the greatest gift his family ever gave to his mother Ida as her birthday present as she turned 71 years.
“She gave my mum Ida Odinga the best birthday present in the world. Thank you God bless you. Red heart (love) you so much!” said Raila Junior.
On her part mama, Ida said the day to celebrate her birthday was special because God blessed her with a grandson.
“Wow, it was a special day. I thank you all for the warm birthday wishes and, most of all, I thank God for seeing me through over the years. It was a double treat for me as another grandchild was born into our family yesterday, an awesome birthday gift! I thank God once again,” Idda Odinga said in a Tweet.
The former Prime Minister who has expressed his ambitions to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta took to Twitter with a photo of his wife Ida and accompanied it with a sweet message to celebrate her birthday.
“Cha cha cha NyarOlwande; Happy birthday my dear,.” wrote presidential hopeful Raila Odinga.
Late Fidel Odinga and his wife, Lwam Gatachew Bekele, welcomed their son, Allay Odinga, on July 31, 2013- about two years before Fidel passed away.
Fidel was Raila’s firstborn, and Allay is Raila Odinga’s first grandson.
Rosemary Odinga, Raila’s daughter, has two children both girls. One of them is Saphie, the lovely girl who walked out on stage with her grandfather at the presidential debate on Monday, July 24, 2017.
