Raila Odinga’s elder brother Oburu Odinga has said there is no cause for alarm over the ODM leader’s health.

The nominated senator also said so far it is not confirmed if or not Raila has contracted COVID-19 as test results are not yet out..

“He did not have any breathing difficulties or chest pains, just general fatigue,” Oburu said in an interview with Citizen Digital.

The revelations comes amid fears Raila Odinga could have considered the deadly COVID-19 following weeks of political rallies as he popularized BBI, his brainchild with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Raila’s personal doctor Oluoch-Olunya, through a statement seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, said the ODM leader is in high spirits and his condition is being closely monitored.

While citing Raila’s busy campaign schedule, Oluoch said the veteran politician has been advised to take some rest.

“He is still undergoing investigations with a team of doctors and has been adviced to take some rest,” the satetement said.

News of Raila’s hospital visit emerged on Tuesday March 9 with some media outlets claiming he had been advised to isolate, a clear indication he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Kenyans and political leaders from across the political divide took to social media for the better part of today wishing Raila speedy recovery so he would resume his pro-BBI campaigns.

He acknowledged the goodwill messages through his twitter handle while assuring supporters he was feeling much better.
