ODM spokesman says Mudavadi, Wetangula used to beg money from Raila’s party

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party spokesperson has claimed that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya Counterpart Moses Wetang’ula used to beg for cash at the Raila Odinga-led party.

In an interview with Radio Citizen on Wednesday, February 2, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna said the duo had a tendency of trooping the ODM party office for cash whenever they were a rally in their turf.

According to Sifuna, whenever there was a political rally in the Western region, Mudavadi and Wetang’ula would walk into ODM demanding the party caters for all logistics including the Public Address system, water, and even transport.

“Whenever there was a rally, in their home grounds, they (Musalia and Wetang’ula) could not provide any resources. They would always come to my office to ask for them,” Sifuna said.

The outspoken youthful politician, who has announced plans to succeed Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja in the August 9, General Election further thanked Deputy President William Ruto for offloading the burden from them.

“We want to thank the deputy president for joining forces with Musalia and Wetang’ula because he has taken a luggage from us,” Sifuna said.

Sifuna further criticized Mudavadi after the former Sabatia Member of Parliament claimed that Raila Odinga’s political rallies are being sponsored by the state.

He instead said Mudavadi and Wetang’ula shifted their allegiance not UDA not because they will add value to the camp but have taken their stomachs there.

His remarks come barely weeks after the duo ditched the nascent One Kenya Alliance for William Ruto.

On Sunday, January 23, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi announced that they will henceforth work with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the much-awaited General Election.
