Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi had a public confrontation with UDA aspirant for the Trans Nzoia senatorial seat Allan Chesang.

“I was born in this area, Caleb (Amisi), these people are just kidding you but they are hustler( William Ruto’s) supporters, these are hustlers. When I say ‘Harambe’ you say ‘UDA’,” Allan Chesang said before Amisi started interrupting him.

Soon, ODM chants from the crowd started emerging, prompting Amisi to snatch the microphone from the UDA aspirant.

“When you have your own meeting you will come here and talk to your people. Today we have ODM guests… when we leave bring your own,” Amisi said and invited Edwin Sifuna to speak.

The Saboti MP has been an integral member of Raila Odinga’s campaign team, especially in the Western and Nyanza region.

He has been advocating for peaceful campaigns. On November 9, the MP made a plea to ODM supporters to welcome William Ruto to his campaign in the Nyanza region.

“If I were Nyanza people I would come out in large numbers when (Deputy President William) Ruto visits Kisumu and Migori just to cheer on the next person who will, after 2022, take over the opposition role that they have played for decades. Call it handover ceremony,” Amisi said.

On the other hand, Allan Chesang is one of the most vocal William Ruto-allied politicians in Trans Nzoia.

The UDA aspirant contested for the Kwanza MP seat in 2017 but lost to incumbent Ferdinand Wanyonyi.
