Lawyer Abdullahi: ODM would be dead without Francis Atwoli

by Amos Khaemba

Outspoken lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has sensationally claimed that the Orange Democratic Movement party (ODM) would have been a shell without the support of COTU boss Francis Atwoli.

Abdullahi took to Twitter to commend the veteran trade unionist, whom he described as a good political strategist.

“I disagree with (Francis) Atwoli on issues in politics but I cannot deny the fact he is the biggest and most important arrow in ODM’S quiver…without him, ODM will be an empty shell. His strategic acumen is unmatched in ODM,” Abdullahi said.

While appreciating Abdullahi’s complement Atwoli was first to remind the renowned lawyer that he is a life member of KANU and only supports Raila Odinga’s presidential aspirations.

“As much as I appreciate your comment, I would like to remind you that I am a KANU life member. My party is KANU. I am just a visionary leader and a number one supporter of Raila and what he stands for. ODM has a very able leadership,” Atwoli answered Abdullahi.

The two were entangled in the Twitter fight after Atwoli hosted ODM leader Raila Odinga at his home Kajiado Illdamat home for a consultative meeting.

Abdullahi termed the Kajiado Azimio la Umoja meeting a crisis meeting as a result of Kalonzo insisting on being on the ballot for the upcoming General Election.

“I knew a crisis meeting was on the cards once Kalonzo Musyoka openly declared he will not play second fiddle to a second fiddle! The numbers for Hon Raila just arent there,” Abdullahi said in reference to Atwoli’s Kajiado meeting.

Among the leaders who attended the Kajiado meeting include ODM leader Raila Odinga, Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, Hon Peter Kenneth, Senator James Orengo, and MP Juna Mohamed.
