Otiende Amollo on why Musalia is biggest loser in Kenya Kwanza Alliance

by Enock Ndayala

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has sensationally claimed that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi made a big mistake in working with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the August 9, elections.

On Sunday, January 23, the deputy president announced that he will work with former One Kenya Alliance (OKA) co-principals Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula, and all other parties that want to walk the journey of bringing Kenyans together.

Amollo said while the move was a big boost for the deputy president who is seeking to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mudavadi tends to be the biggest loser as he has nothing to negotiate as far as the August 9, succession politics is concerned.

In an interview with KTN News on Tuesday, March 1, the distinguished lawyer argued that the recently formed Kenya Kwanza coalition will not give Mudavadi a chance to seek either of the top elective seats in the upcoming elections.

“I think the biggest loser in the whole Kenya Kwanza formation is Musalia Mudavadi. He has been a vice president, he held a very big chunk of a region, then he is coming into a place where he has nothing to negotiate,” Amollo said.

Otiende said this just a day after Mathira MP Rigathi Gacagua told Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to forget about being either UDA presidential candidates or presidential running mates.

The outspoken MP on Monday, February 28, ruled out the possibility of Musalia Mudavadi being Ruto’s running mate.

He insisted that William Ruto’s presidential running mate must come from the vote-rich Mt Kenya region adding that the former Eldoret North MP will fly the UDA presidential flag.

“As far as am concerned there is a general consensus that William Ruto is our Candidate and the running mate will come from Mt Kenya,” Gachagua said.
