In the letter by DPP boss Noordin Haji to Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, the DPP said the Senator’s words can cause hatred, Violence, hostility and discrimination among people who live in Uasin Gishu County.
“Pursuant to Article 157 (4) of the Constitution, I hereby direct that you immediately institute comprehensive investigations into the said allegation and submit the resultant investigations file on or before 14th January, 2022,” Haji said in the letter.
The DPP expects the report by IG Hillary Mutyambai before the 14 of January this year.

The Director of Public Prosecutions on the evening of Saturday, January 8, asked the Inspector General of Police to commence investigations into 'madoadoa' remarks by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.

In his remarks the Senator said that the people who are not supporting the DP’S urge to be president should be eliminated from Uasin Gishu County.

He remarked that they can’t be supporting Ruto while some people from his home county are against him.

“We want to be in the coming government but I want to tell you, people of Uasin Gishu, not to play with Kenya and I am asking you to remove the spots you have here. We cannot stand with William Ruto from Mt Kenya yet you have people here who don’t listen and cannot team up with him,” said Linturi.

The Senator came out to defend himself Over his utterance during UDA’s rally in Eldoret sports club, Uasin Gishu County.

Mithika said he meant people of Rift Valley should not elect politicians who do not support UDA and William Ruto’s presidential ambitions.

In his Tweet, Linturi said people chose to misinterpret his utterance to suggest he was asking residents to kick out non-Kikuyus from Uasin Gishu.

“Even the Most Unobservant Dullard knows that by “Madoadoa” I meant those who do not support UDA. I was simply asking the UDA people not to Elect them but indefatigable bootlickers choose to Translate in their own terms,” Linturi wrote on Twitter.

he has since apologised for his statement which he maintains was taken out of context.

Several leaders came out to condemn the utterance saying it will be of a great impact considering we are in an electioneering year.

They have argued that Linturi’s statement in Rift Valley could open wounds, especially after the region was largely affected by the 2007 Post Election Violence.
