Political analyst Herman Manyora advises Ruto on what to do before handshake with Uhuru

by Enock Ndayala

Political analyst Herman Manyara has advised Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto on what if he wants reconciliation between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta to happen.

This comes barely days after the deputy president said he was ready for an unconditional truce with his boss following concerns raised by a section of top Catholic bishops.

In his weekly YouTube political analysis program ‘A matter of time’, the analyst listed three things that he believes will make the Handshake dream a success for William Ruto if the deputy president is really yearning to reunite with his boss ahead of the 2022 elections.

This is despite the tough conditions listed by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies that William Ruto must meet before he can reconcile with his boss since the two have not seen each other eye-to-eye for several months now.

As part of the advice, the University of Nairobi don said the DP must first fold the newly revamped United Democratic Alliance (UDA), suspend the ongoing series of political meetings, and recognise the March 2018 Handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“Before he (William Ruto) does the three listed things, how will it be known that the reconciliation he is seeking with President Uhuru is genuine?” Manyora posed.

The analyst further advised Ruto to call his lieutenants to order to stop their frequent insults against the Head of State.

It is not a doubt that the former Eldoret North MP has been condemning Uhuru-Raila’s handshake saying it has interfered with the Jubilee administration’s big four agenda.

But according to Manyora, it was so wrong for the deputy president to castigate the famous 2018 handshake and call for a similar move between him and his boss.

He argues that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be seen as the most stupid person if he agrees to mend the broken fences with Ruto if he will not have done as advised.
