The two Western Kenya political kingpins joined William Ruto’s team where they pledged loyalty to the then-presidential candidate.

Musalia who was then the ANC party leader and Wetang’ula who is until now the Ford Kenya Party leader pledged to deliver 70 percent of the votes from their region to William Ruto which they did.

Just six months after William Ruto was officially sworn in, allies of President William Ruto have promised to reward the two for their loyalty to the Head of State.

Led by Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, and President William Ruto’s aid Farouk Kibet, the leaders said the two played a pivotal role in winning Western Kenya votes for Ruto.

“I am the governor of the president’s home county. When you see me here, be assured something is cooking between the leaders of Rift Valley and our two brothers from Western,” the governor said in reference to Mudavadi and Wetang’ula.

“We will always remember the sacrifices you made for us, and we must reward it in equal measures,” the county boss added.

Kibet who spoke at Sulungui Primary School in Malava Constituency said President Ruo’s allies were deeply indebted to the pair that went against the Raila tide to back Ruto.

“I loud the two leaders and the people of Western Kenya who have crossed over to Kenya Kwanza because of them. I want to assure them all they did was not in vain. We will reciprocate at the opportune time,” Farouk said.

Farouk who is the longest-serving aide to President Ruto said the Rift Valley will back the Western Kenya leaders if at all there will be any who will consider asking for a bigger political seat.

“When the time comes when you will be asking for higher political offices, we will pay back,” he said.
