However, today, President Ruto dropped his official look and he draped a blue shirt, a cute pair of sunglasses, and a godfather hat at an official event.

The immediate former Deputy President who always has his fashion in check stepped out in a KSh 600,000 ($5,000) shirt from the Italian menswear label Stefano Ricci.

Italian luxury menswear brand Stefano Ricci has dressed Nelson Mandela, Andrea Bocelli, and various self-made billionaires.

In his speech, Ruto noted police officers need adequate facilities, such as hospitals, to enable them to perform their duties.

“The government of Kenya is committed to guaranteeing the institutional independence of the service by making sure they have financial autonomy,” the president noted.

He further responded to the recent demands made by opposition leader Raila Odinga that IEBC servers be opened for purpose of transparency on the 2022 presidential election results.

Ruto said that IEBC servers have never been closed and that they have always remained open and accessible ever since Kenyans took to the polls on Tuesday, September 9, 2022.

“The servers were open when we all went to the polling station and when we all were identified biometrically and each and every one of us was given a vote to cast,

“It is also true that when the counting was done and the results posted in the portal, the servers were open,” the president said.
