President Ruto’s ally wonders if Raila really knows what he wants

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has poked holes in the demands made by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Raila Odinga.

Some of the irreducible minimum demands Raila wants to be addressed by the Kenya Kwanza regime include lowering the cost of living.

He also wants the Head of State to expedite the opening of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers for the 2022 presidential polls to ascertain who won the presidency.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has poked holes in the demands made by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Raila Odinga.

The former Prime Minister is further demanding President Ruto halt the ongoing process of appointing new IEBC commissioners.

However, Osoro who is the National Assembly majority Whip on Tuesday, April 4, said Raila appears not to know what he wants.

In an interview with Citizen TV, the lawmaker said the demands made by the opposition leader were too ambiguous and that they cannot be met.

“There is something that Hon. Raila said that needs to be relooked at. He made some demands that he needs to be sorted but I have to say some things are ambiguous and can’t be met,” he said.

For instance, Osoro said it was not within the confines of the President to pen the IEBC servers as it is not his mandate.

“You have been listening to him in rallies talking about ‘we are telling Ruto to open servers’ it is not within the powers of the bipartisan committee to open servers. That may not work,” the legislator added.

The UDA lawmaker, however, added that the bipartisan committee will make recommendations that will be used to forge a way forward on some of the demands.

While suspending the protests, the opposition leader said he will resume the weekly protests if the ongoing bipartisan talks will not have bored fruits in the next seven days.
