Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga and the 9-year-old Karen Wanjiku are among Kenyans who are attending the conference.

The former Prime Minister is attending the conference in his capacity as a member of the African Union whereas Karen Wanjiku is attending in her capacity as a distinguished environmentalist.

Wanjiku, who has planted over 10,000 trees and 30,000 seedlings courageously, interviewed the President on how to scale up tree planting in the country.

“I have planted more than 10,000 seedlings. I have a few questions to ask my President William Ruto,

“My president, your plan to have youth in Kenya plant trees is a good idea and I support it, but my question is, how are you going to ensure that trees planted in dry areas do not dry up because of lack of rain?” she posed.

After the panel discussion, Ruto went for a photo shoot session with Wanjiku and her mother Anne Njeri Kimani.

During the photo session, an unidentified man severally tried to gate-crush the session meant for the trio but President William Ruto’s bodyguard immediately swang into action.
