Residents of Nairobi were on Wednesday, March 16, left in awe after Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta made an impromptu visit to the famous Kenyatta Market, named after his father, for lunch in a high-end Mercedes G wagon car.

Kivumbi.co.ke claim that the head of state drove himself to Nairobi’s open-air market in a black armored, G Wagon to have a bite of the market’s renowned nyama choma (roasted meat).

In a report by Tuko.co.ke, the first in command was accompanied by a contingent of security personnel in vehicles with civilian number plates for what is suspected to be security reasons.

The car resembles a similar one the Head of State was also seen driving at Kasarani Stadium sometime in mid-2020 but with different number plates.

It could mean the president, whose father was Kenya’s first president, has several of such high-end Mercedes Benz or the number plates were simply switched as a security measure.

The G Wagon Mercedes Benz has a base price of KSh 15 million but can go as high as KSh 50 million depending on th year of manufacture and whether it is brand new or foreign used.

The luxury car borrows its design from military vehicles of the 70’s and is well-known for its tall, sturdy, and box-like imposing shape.

The G-wagon is a fantastic option for anyone who craves a luxurious car with amazing offroad capabilities.

With the ability to clock 0-100km/h in 6 seconds, the G wagon is typical Mercedes with an excellent interior finish, befitting the person of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who no doubt comes.

The Mercedes G wagon comfortably accommodates 5 occupants with both front and back occupants enjoying plenty of head and legroom
