“He told me if you want to be together with people of the mountain take care of their needs like roads, water, and Agriculture,” William Ruto said.

Speaking at Latter Glory Worship Center in Kiambaa, Kiambu County, on Sunday, October 24, where he gave a personal donation of Ksh 1 million in aid of the church, William Ruto said the President told him to start planning early so that he could easily live with people from the region.

Ruto told the ODM leader Raila Odinga who is yet to declare his 2022 presidential bid that he just discovered late that there is a mountain to climb, adding that you cannot win the central Kenya votes in a month.

“People are having problems because they have just discovered that there’s a mountain to climb,

“They should know that they cannot do it in months or just one year. I am lucky my friend Uhuru told me to start planning to live and work with watu wa mlima (people from the mountain),” Ruto added.

In what appeared to be a veiled attack at the former Prime Minister, the deputy president further pleaded with Mt Kenya people to shun themselves from politicians with tribal groupings.

“Do not allow yourselves to be misled to support political parties with tribal groupings and which have no development agenda,” Ruto said.
