Uganda’s President, Yoweri Museveni’s son, Lieutenant-General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sensationally revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has Ugandan roots.

In a post on his Twitter account on Monday, April 18, Muhoozi referred to Uhuru as his ‘big brother’ saying that President Uhuru’s grandfather has Ugandan roots.

He said the father of Kenya’s first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was Omukama Kabalega, one of the greatest kings in the neighboring country before the colonial period.

Uganda’s President, Yoweri Museveni’s son, Lieutenant-General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sensationally revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta has Ugandan roots.

“Hahaha! I can see some Kenyan haters angry because I love my big brother. You will be well. Uhuru is my real big brother. According to legend, his grandfather was Omukama Kabalega. One of our greatest kings. Uganda and Kenya are linked by blood relations,” Museveni’s son said.

Museveni’s son was defending social media users who were criticizing his close ties with the family of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While defending his close ties with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kainerugaba expressed optimism that President Uhuru Kenyatta will attend his birthday party slated for Sunday, April 24.

“Spoke to my beloved big brother Uhuru Kenyatta, this morning. I love him very much, I will always be on his side! I hope he attends the birthday party,” he added.

The Jubilee party leader and Museveni’s son have enjoyed a cordial relationship during his tenure and have been pictured touring different parts of the country.

In January this year, the two were spotted in Naivasha inspecting the Inland Container.

In 2013, Uganda’s new outlet New Vision reported that King Kabalega spent time in Kenya while being deported to Seychelles for resisting British rule, suggesting that claims by Museveni’s son could be true.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands that President Uhuru’s family belongs to the larger Kikuyu tribe whose ancestral roots are in Ichaweri, Gatundu South constituency in Kiambu County.
