Former UNCTAD boss and 2022 presidential hopeful is said to have assaulted his lover at a five-star hotel in Mombasa.

According to an OB report file at Nyali Police station in Mombasa, Mukhisa physically assaulted Diana Opemi Lutta after she turned down his sexual advances.

“Assault report to the station by one Diana Opemi Lutta today the 22 May 2021, at around 0200 hours. She has been assaulted by a person well known to her within Tamarind Village, namely Mukhisa Kituyi whom she claims to be her boyfriend,” the report read in part.

Lutta told the People Daily Newspaper that the former Trade Minister pushed her from the bed and landed on her with kicks and blows after she had fallen down.

Mukhisa, on his part, has dismissed allegations that he beat his girlfriend saying it may have been a scheme orchestrated by his political opponents.

Although he admitted that he knew the case was reported, the former Kimilili Member of Parliament said he had never beaten a woman in his life.

“Someone had written that report on the alleged assault and been made to the police but it had since been withdrawn,” Mukhisa said.

It is not yet clear however if or not the case was withdrawn.

This is after a senior police officer from Nyali police station said he was not aware that the case had been withdrawn.

“Kindly get in touch with the Officer Commanding Station since I am not aware of the matter being withdrawn,”

“We were waiting for the complainant to fill a P3 form and handover to us so that we can move with speed and arrest the culprit,” the officer who sought anonymity said.

Mukhisa resigned as the UNCTAD Secretary General early this year to focus in the presidential campaigns to succeed retiring President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kivumbi.co.ke understand that the presidential hopeful was in the Coastal region on the diverse dates when the incident is reported to have happened.

He was meeting local leaders and professionals to popularize his presidential desires.
