Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho has backed the statement by ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party flag bearer Raila Odinga will win the presidency in round 1.

Kibicho said that data by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) shows that Raila will beat Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto with a resounding 60 percent.

“It is a first-round win. This is intelligence data and that’s what it’s saying. It is about 60 percent,” he said during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, May 31.

Kibicho said as a government official, he has the privileged to access intelligence information and that they don’t speak from emotions like their Kenya kwanza counterparts but from facts.

“If the data I have given you, you think is misleading then tell me what data you have and from where that says otherwise. You cannot criminalize someone for giving you the information you have asked for,” the PS said.

On Monday, May 30, Kivumbi reported that Information Communication Technology CS Joe Mucheru said that all available data has confirmed there will be no presidential run-off in the much-awaited 2022 presidential contest.

Mucheru who is on Kenya Kwanza’s radar over his alleged involvement in campaigning for Raila said all the stars are now aligned in favor of Odinga since he chose Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua as his 2022 presidential running mate.

“We will not require around two-vote… All indicators are that he will take it in round 1. “The data we have, the opinion polls available, and many other factors point to that reality,” Mucheru said.
