ODM leader Raila Odinga has lashed out at Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa over her decision to support Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid.
Speaking in Kilifi county, where the MP hails from on Thursday, May 12, the former Prime Minister said that he was not pleased with Aisha Jumwa’s recent behaviour accusing her of shaking her bum to impress voters instead of focusing on issues affecting her constituents.
“Sasa amaeanza kuongea, kila mara anaonyesha watu kiuno, ati sasa anaringa ati ako na kiuno safi sana, kiuno hio mimi sijagusa, kiuno hio mimi sina haja nayo (She talks much, bragging about her waist. I am not interested in her behind, I have never touched it),” Raila said.
The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential aspirant further recounted how he helped the legislator to climb the political ladder to where she currently is.
The opposition leader went on to say despite helping Jumwa rise from nothing to something politically, she has turned against him.
“Yule Mama, mnajua vile mimi nlimchukua nikambeba mpaka nikamuweka pale aliko sasa. Alikuwa mchafu chafu nikamsafisha mpaka akawa pale (You know how I picked her when she was nothing and through ODM, she rose to become a respected politician)” Raila said.
Odinga said that he felt betrayed by Jumwa and outgoing Kilifi Governo Amoson Kingi who recently dumped Raila’s camp and joined William Ruto.
He asked residents of Kilifi county to punish the two leaders in the August elections by voting them out.
“She is now with our enemy(William Ruto) dancing and showing off her waist. I do not want anything with the waist but make sure you punish her for turning her back on ODM,” Raila said.
He spoke a few days after Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi defected from Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition to join the Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza coalition under his Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party.
Kingi made the move after Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua ditched Raila’s Azimio for Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
