Raila: I don’t recognize William Ruto as President of Kenya

Raila Odinga has been overtaken by Ruto as the most preferred presidential candidate in the latest opinion poll.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga now says that he does not recognize William Ruto as the President of Kenya.

Speaking at the Kamkunji grounds on Monday, January 23, after landing from South Africa, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential candidate further said that he does not recognize any official appointed by William Ruto.

“We don’t recognize William Ruto as the President of Kenya. We also don’t recognize any official appointment in his government,” Raila said.

Raila who was speaking in relation to last week’s whistleblower who claimed that Raila won the August 9, elections insisted that he won by over 2 million votes.

“According to the whistleblower data, the election wasn’t even close. We won with over 2 million votes,” Raila said.

This comes just days after a damning report released by a whistleblower on the alleged manipulation of the August 9 elections results.

The whistleblower whose identity remains unknown claimed that Raila beat William Ruto by 8 million votes in the hotly contested 2022 presidential elections.

While a section of Kenya Kwanza allies dismissed the report, Raila has challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to make public the records of the August 9, presidential results.

The former Prime Minister further demanded a thorough audit of the IEBC servers.

“We demand that the entire infrastructure and records of IEBC on the 2022 election are made public and be audited by an independent auditor,” he added.

However, political analyst Javas Bigambo argued that the alleged report by the IEBC whistleblower cannot be superior to IEBC’s Forms 34A.

“It is not possible that a “whistleblower’s” claim in Kenya can be superior to data contained in Forms 34A filled at the polling stations,” Javas Bigambo.
