Raila invited to Jubilee delegetes meeting where Ruto’s fate will be decided

ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, and KANU’s Gideon Moi have been invited to the Jubilee delegates convention to be held on November 20.

Other than Raila Odinga, who is working on a coalition agreement with Jubilee, the other party leaders have a formal agreement with the ruling party.

The move is one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s plans to invite Raila Odinga and Pro-handshake partners to important meetings with Jubilee legislators.

Speaking to the Star, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju said the party is keen on keeping the tradition of NDCs where key political allies are invited to attend.

“I am actually from a meeting where the issue you are asking about has been on the table. The NMC has not mandated me to discuss the finer details, but, obviously, that is being considered,” Raphael Tuju said.

The Jubilee delegates convention will be a delicate meeting since the fate of William Ruto and his allies who have defected from the party will be decided.

There are reports that major changes will be made in the leadership of the Jubilee Party when the National Delegates Convention is held.

On November 1, Raphael Tuju held a press conference where he confirmed plans to kick out William Ruto during the Jubilee NDC.

“The NDC is the highest party organ and whatever it decides prevails,” Tuju told journalists at the party headquarters in Nairobi.

However, Ruto dismissed the plan to kick him out of the party saying that he had already moved on after Raila Odinga started meddling in party affairs.

“These people are useless and hopeless. They should leave us alone because that party disintegrated the moment they brought in strangers in the name of a Handshake and we have since moved on,” he said.
