Three NASA co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka(Wiper) Moses Wetangula (FORD Kenya), and Musalia Mudavadi(ANC) have held a meeting to discuss the fate of their coalition after Raila’s move to form a new coalition.

Their partner, Raila Odinga(ODM) has technically quit the 2017 union and is in talks to form a coalition with the ruling Jubilee Party ahead of the 2022 General Election.

The trio announced on Tuesday, June 22 in a meeting they said was aimed at discussing the current political trends in the country.

“Today, the NASA principals Musalia Mudavadi Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka met and discussed a wide range of issues concerning the current political landscape in the country,” Musalia Mudavadi party said through social media.

The meeting comes after two principals in the coalition, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Musalia Mudavadi accused Raila Odinga of failing to honor a NASA agreement that ostensibly mandated him to support one of the two for the presidency in 2022.

While vowing not to contest as Raila Odinga’s running mate in 2022, Kalonzo accused the former Prime Minister of being cunning.

“There must be integrity in politics and leaders must learn to stick to their promises without shifting goals. I will continue barking until the leaders learn to respect and honour any agreements made either in public or in private,” Kalonzo stated.

On the other hand, Musalia Mudavadi said he can not work with Raila Odinga because he is untrustworthy. This was after Uhuru called on the NASA principals to unite so that he can support on of them.

According to the trio, their agreement was to support Raila Odinga for a one term presidency and thereafter he would throw his weight behind one of them.

With the new turn of events, the ODM brigade has dismissed the claims.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who is ODM’s Deputy Party leader said the agreement was only applicable if Raila won the 2017 polls.

Now, ODM is unbowed in its quest to unite with Jubilee.

The party failed to achieve its goal during their coalition with the three parties, and they would want to improve their muscle by uniting with Jubilee, which is a bigger party.
