Raila Odinga dares President Ruto to have him arrested

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday, February, launched a youth resistance movement aimed at driving the agenda of Azimio in the coming days.

Raila who is pushing for the resignation of Kenya’s President William Ruto said that he will not relent to instill a ‘government of the people.’

The veteran politician said he will not bow to intimidation by the national government and dared President Ruto to arrest him if he was a man enough.

“Let him go and ask former President Daniel Moi. We cannot be intimidated. I dare Ruto to arrest me but we will not relent in the push to have him out,

“We will hold public rallies and even peaceful demonstrations. But the right time is coming,” Raila said.

He asked the Kenya Kwanza government to leave his allies alone and arrest him personally.

The Azimio chief further demanded for the immediate release of Korogocho Member of County Assembly (MCA) Absalom Odhiambo.

“Our MCA Absalom has been arrested and placed under police custody. I am calling for his immediate release before Monday, February 6,” Raila declared.

Odhiambo was arrested last week and was set free after three days in detention. However, the vocal ODM lawmaker was on Saturday, February 5, re-arrested and his whereabouts remain unknown.

The former Prime Minister who emerged second after President William Ruto in the 2022 presidential elections further maintained that the former deputy president did not win.
