Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has been gifted a portrait of the Kenyan State House during his tour of Narok County.

Raila who was accompanied by his presidential running mate Martha Karua for the first time since she was picked overwhelmingly received the gift and assured the locals that he will soon occupy the house.

Designed with white walls and red roofing, the presidential hopeful said that the portrait signifies his victory in the August 9, General Election.

“Hawa vijana leo wamenipatia state house, wameamua kuniingiza leo hii. Wamesema leo hii kwamba hii itakuwa maskani yangu na Martha atakuwa na ofisi kule ndani,”

“These youths have given the State House Kenya portrait, they have said they want by residence to be in state house,” Raila said.

The Nairobi based house sits roughly 4km from the country’s Central Business District and is one of the highly protected residence across the country.

During the tour, the ODM leader urged the Maa community to rally their support behind the Azimio la Umoja to help him achieve his dreams of becoming the next tenant of the State House.

Raila said he will fight poverty, illiteracy and the economy should he win the much-awaited presidential duel.

“We are fighting three monsters in our country: poverty, illiteracy and the economy,” he said in Kilgoris town on Sunday, May 22.

“All Kenyans must have a chance to work hard and ensure that they have contributed to our economic growth,” Raila said.
