Raila Odinga: How I will transform Kenya Magufuli-style

ODM leader Raila Odinga has explained that he will use late Tanzania President John Magufuli-style to transform the country’s economy.

Speaking in Suna West constituency on Tuesday, December 28, when he paid a courtesy call to the family of David Masaga, the former Prime Minister disclosed that he played an integral part in Magufuli’s transformation of Tanzania’s economy adding that he will use tactics he shared with Magufuli to transform Kenya’s economy.

The Opposition Chief maintained that Kenya’s economy is ailing because of massive corruption and promised to seal all loopholes so that the funds can be channeled to development projects.

“In Tanzania, my friend the late President Magufuli did a good job and those who are here can attest to what he did. I was his key advisor and my wife will attest to that. In a week we used to talk with him at least thrice,

The ODM party leader intimated that he helped Magufuli identify loopholes that he needed to seal to foster economic growth.

“He told me there was no money and I advised him to first seal off all corruption loopholes and soon after, there was enough money to make the economy to be steady,” he said.

Raila who recently announced that he will be giving his fifth stab at the presidency in the 2022 elections further pledged to ensure all Kenyans access basic health care services by facilitating them with NHIF coverage.

He highlighted that a lot of funds needed to be channeled to rural development, education, and the creation of employment. He noted that investing in education would lead to the unlocking f employment opportunities for Kenyans

He further defended his social protection fund policy.

“I said that I know where we will get money to support the social protection fund. We must change how we are moving as a country,” Raila stated.
