Raila Odinga laughs off Musalia Mudavadi’s earthquake

Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has laughed off the political move by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi terming it inconsequential.

Speaking in Murang’a on Monday, January,24, when he met Murang’a tycoons and opinion leaders, the ODM leader laughed at the Musalia’s earthquake announcement saying it never troubled anyone.

“We will work with you and try to make Saturday different. Don’t promise an earthquake and you don’t even deliver a tremor,” Raila said in an indirect reference to Musalia Mudavadi.

Raila was speaking in reference to Mudalia Mudfacadi’s big announcement over the weekend after which he declared to work closely with Deputy President William Ruto.

At the same event, the ODM leader promised to fight corruption in the government terming the major hindrance to the economic development of the country.

“Corruption is the biggest impediment for the development of our country, and it is not just at the top only, it goes down the ladder. We shall finish it or reduce it tremendously,” Raila said.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed while speaking at the seam event hit out DP Ruto accusing him of double-speaking on matters of forming coalitions.

“Ruto has been moving around boasting that he will only form coalitions with mama mbogas and bodabodas. I was surprised yesterday when I saw him parade Mudavadi and Wetangula as his latest mama mbogas,” Junet said as the crowd cheered

On his part, the former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth accused Mudavadi of being dishonest on matters of corruption.

Kenneth said its during Mudavadi’s tenure as finance minister that the biggest corruption scandal was reported in the country.

“Who was the minister when Goldenberg-the biggest corruption scandal in the country-was paid? Who was the finance minister when the inflation hit 85 percent?” Kenneth asked.

The former MP also accused Ruto’s camp of dishonest in criticizing the debt levels, saying Garissa Township MP Aden Duale was the mastermind of the push when he was the majority leader of the National Assembly.
